Ms. Maxine Olsbrooks, was born to the late Clestes Smith and Elestine Baldwin. She was later adopted by Johnny and Lillie Jane Olsbrooks. She departed this earthly life at Southeastern Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
Maxine received her education in the Hoke County Schools. She graduated from Upchurch High School in Raeford, NC. She later continued her education at Robeson Community College and received certification in Nursing Assistance. She worked for Southeastern Home Health as a Nursing Assistant.
Maxine gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Oakridge Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Gospel Choir, Mass Choir and on the kitchen committee until she retired.
Along with her parents Maxine was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Olsbrooks.
Maxine leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Denise (Raymond) Merriweather, Parkton, NC; four grandchildren, Aric Ray and Aaron Miller, Fayetteville, NC, Rahmel Merriweather, Florence, SC, and Annie Olsbrooks, Lumber Bridge, NC; three great grandchildren, Aaron (AJ) Miller, Jr., Tyler and Jordan Merriweather. She leaves four siblings; two sisters, Annie Hawks, and Beatrice (William) Williams, Lumber Bridge, NC, two brothers, John (Nance) Olsbrooks, Raleigh, NC, and Jimmy (Marie) Olsbrooks, Lumber Bridge, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
